Clinical Research Assistant
Danica is from Wauconda, IL and is currently living in Chicago working as a clinical research assistant at Northwestern Dermatology for Dr. June Robinson and applying to medical schools. "As a clinical research assistant, I assist in the recruitment of melanoma survivors for our numerous sun studies. Since it is the summer season, we are juggling between three studies currently. Additionally, I make trips to the Dermatology clinic at Northwestern in order to collect specimen for further melanoma research."
Danica loved the community she found as an MCB major with support from her professors, advisors, and friends. Her favorite memories include her first quad day during her first year and being named as a Senior 100 recipient.
Here is some advice from Danica for current and new MCB students: "Understand that all aspects of college, whether it be socially or academically, are not going to be easy. Know that college isn't meant to be easy - this is an opportunity for you to grow into the best individual you can be. Challenge yourself, but most importantly, forgive yourself for the mistakes you make in the future and take those opportunities to grow."
